Vocations
We are Discalced Carmelite Nuns because we believe God chose each of us, invited us, and confirmed us over the years in the gift of a Carmelite
vocation. A vocation to be a Discalced Carmelite Nun begins with God's initiative, some beckoning movement of the Holy Spirit in a person's life.
It continues with the discerning response of the one touched by God's grace, as well as community discernment by the monastery where the individual
launches out into the deep following her perceived call.
We, the members of Mary, Queen of Carmel Association, would be happy to help you ‘find your place’ if you sense that you are being called
to share religious life with the Discalced Carmelite Nuns for the sake of Jesus Christ and the Church. In the web site there are links to respective
member monasteries in our Association, and further contact with any of us is welcome. Our communities are scattered geographically, but we are united
in the Carmelite spirit and ideals. We are delighted to serve the Lord and His Church by our life of prayer, and we encourage you to follow your
inspiration to join us.
